Bottling Delirium & “New Release” Winemaker Dinner at Angela’s Bistro

We just finished bottling all 4,000 cases of R&B Cellars wine & are now awaiting what 2011 has to bring us…whew! And yes, a bit of bottling line delirium set in, but now we can reap the reward of wonderful new releases.

Wines and vintages just bottled are 2010: Saxy Syrah, Serenade in Blanc Sauvignon Blanc & Swingsville Zinfandel. Also bottled 2009 vintages: Zydeco Zin, Minunet in Merlot & Pizzicato Petite Sirah. We saved the best for last; our 2008 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is stellar! So much great wine to look forward to!

And if you got ants in your pants and can’t wait to try some of these new fall bottlings, we’ve teamed up with Angela’s Bistro in Alameda for a “New Release” Winemaker Dinner. Join us Sunday, September 18 (5-8pm) for an amazing 5-course meal paired with 8 of our brand spanking new wines. Winemakers, Kevin & Barbara Brown, will be there to discuss their new releases as well as perform jazz favorites.

Menu to whet your appetite:

You will be greeted at the door with a glass of 2007 Serenade in Blanc Sauvignon Blanc. Then sit down and enjoy the five course meal:
~Scallop with Meyer lemon risotto (made with lemons from the Brown’s Meyer lemon tree) – paired with our 2010 Serenade in Blanc Sauvignon Blanc
~Steamed leek dumpling with a Zydeco Zinfandel infused tomato and beef ragu – paired with both our 2010 Swingsville Zinfandel and our 2009 Zydeco Zinfandel
~Saboor’s Inspiriation Heirloom Tomato Salad (made with whatever strikes Saboor’s fancy at the farmer’s market that day) – paired with our 2009 Minuet in Merlot
~Braised veal cheeks served with a Merango Sauce over a cauliflower and parsnip puree – served with our 2009 Petite Sirah and our 2010 Saxy Syrah
~Chocolate ganache cake with creme Anglaise and fresh raspberries – served served with our *2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
*We are not serving our newly bottled 2008 Reserve Cab because the bottle age is part of the aging program. The newly bottled 2008 will not be officially released for another year or so.
